Don't miss this rare performance by the Symphony of the Kootenays in Trail as they perform, for the first time, The Fifth!
Celebrating their 44th year, and Betehoven's 250th anniversary, this 44 member orchestra has entertained more than 80,000 audience members and played more than 600 pieces in more than 225 concerts. Fifty percent of SOTK's musicians come from the Kootenay area and the remainder come from Alberta and the Okanagan Valley of BC. SOTK is based out of Cranbrook making Cranbrook the smallest community in Canada to host a professional symphony orchestra.
Conductor Jeff Faragher is a professional cellist who brings a youthful passion and energy to the orchestra. SOTK is joined by San Francisco based, Castlegar native, Amy Zanrosso on piano for this performance. The program includes: Beethoven's Coriolanus Overture, Beethoven's 5th Symphony & Beethoven's 5th Piano Concerto. This show will be a unique orchestral treat for your ears and mind.
