December 12 10:30 am to 1:00 pm

Join our collections and archives staff for a 2.5-hour hands-on workshop on how best to care for your family heirlooms.

In this workshop, we'll cover:
- Packing Textiles - Safely store your precious heirloom fabrics and garments
- Making Padded Hangers - Keep your clothing items in pristine condition
- Caring for Photos - Tips for cleaning, organizing, and protecting your family photo collection
- Document Repair - Simple techniques to mend and preserve your paper treasures

Whether you're looking to protect family photos or safeguard your grandmother’s wedding dress, this workshop will provide valuable skills to ensure your heirlooms remain in the best shape possible. You can bring documents from home to repair or you can practice on some pieces from the museum’s education collection.
