Come celebrate international trails day with the Kootenay Columbia Trails Society (KCTS) by joining us for the 20th annual volunteer trail building day. This is a great opportunity for any and all trail uses to get your hands dirty, give back to the trails we love, and connect with others in the community.
This year we have an exciting project constructing the all new Claim Jumper Trail, a technical mountain bike descent trail connecting Blue Elephant and Moe’s. This will be the lower section of the trail with an advanced upper section to come later.
The plan:
- Meet at Centennial Parking Lot (Upper Rossland) at 9:00 am June 7th
- Late comers can find the trail roughly 100 m from the north end of Moe’s
- The KCTS trail crew will be onsite until 2:00 pm supporting volunteers
- After a hard day trail building, join us for a celebratory BBQ at Lions Campground from 4:00 to 7:00 pm with complimentary food and beverages as well as draw prizes thanks to our awesome sponsors!
How to prepare:
- Come ready to work outside in whatever weather we have on the day
- Bring water, work/garden gloves, and good footwear
- Bring your favourite trail building tools if you have them (KCTS will have lots to share as well)
See you June 7th!!!
